THE EF 70-200mm F4L LENS!!!!!

I've finally gotten what i always wanted (and i bet its what other photographers dream of having too). The canon ef 70-200mm f4L IS lens.

Yup. Total jibberish to you.

Its just the perfect zoom lens.
One of the best lenses in the canon line up.
freaking omg.

Ok.enough with that wowing. time for photos.

THE L LENS! Generally, any lens with a red ring around it signifies that its a top quality lens and also cost lots on $$.

20090606_9539
Its not as big as i thought it would be. and its slightly heavier than my normal lens.

20090606_9544
this one zooms to 200mm. how much is that, ill show it later.

20090606_9546
twice the number of switches compared to my normal lens.

20090606_9552
and its really long with the lens shade on. (the black cup like thing at the bottom)..

20090606_9547
its somewhat weather proof. thus the rubber seal around the edges.

20090606_9550
looking through the front. The odd thing is, when taken from the front, the autofocus on the camera works. But when taking from the back, i need to move the camera to bring the guitar into focus. cool.

20090606_9553
the front lens size is 67mm, compared to the ones i have, at 77mm.

bought a bag too, to fit all my camera and lenses. totally love this bag.

20090606_9561
plus, it can accommodate a tripod too. so double yay.

Image025
this brings my collection of lenses to 3. A long range zoom lens, a medium and general purpose lens, and my wide angle lens (from left to right.)

Image026
length comparison. Sorry for the blurred photos, taken by my hp camera.

of course, by now, you are thinking "so what".
well, first of all, this zoom lens is really fun as its a zoom lens. that means you get to take pictures while really far away from the subject. perfect for unsuspecting chio bu - er birds and bees - erm. nature subjects. :D

yup. nature subjects.

PLUS. its the highest quality lens. Least amount of distortion (as in bulging photos or whatnot) or chromatic abbreviation or somehting like that (that means the colour splits, like in a prism). And its a very sharp lens. (like when your lens is lousy your photos are slightly blurred even though they are in perfect focus).

generally. this lens owns most other lenses.

plus. it looks good.

Anyway, to show you the lens zoom and stuff, i've decided to do a simple setup to show you what different ranges means.

Image030
first up, the zoom lens mounted on a tripod.

20090606_9554
at 200mm zoom. (its maximum zoom distance)

20090606_9555
at 70mm zoom (its minimum zoom distance)

Image031
the second setup, my normal everyday-situation lens..

20090606_9556
at 55mm (its max zoom)

20090606_9557
at 17mm (its min zoom) and shit, now you start to see the extent of the messiness of my house.

Image032
the third setup, my wide angle lens.

20090606_9558
at 16mm (its max zoom)

20090606_9559
at 11mm (its min zoom)

So now you get what all those numbers mean right.
yup. oh and dont apply it to digital cameras (the normal people type of camera). it uses the same numbers but it means a different range due to its different sensor size.

20090606_9567
and now, for the spying... some random person at the next block. (i didnt crop the picture).

20090606_9565
the people down at the ica building...

20090605_9534
or even INSIDE the ica building. (yes its blur as i had to use a high iso.)

20090606_9572
random shots around the house.

20090606_9568
sisters battered laptop.

20090605_9531
and for some reason, my sister brought back a bull shit button. hahaah

of course, i wouldnt have been able to get this lens if it wasnt for my moms kindness.

so....
THANK YOU MOM!
I LOVE YOU!!!
