Sharlenes 19th - Pictures!

Freshman welcome party post here.. (blogger screwed up big time, not allowing more than 1 post to be viewed..)





I went over to sharlenes house for her birthday party, arriving a bit
earlier and helped get ready stuff..

The theme of the party was "Alice in Wonderland", and Sharlene printed
out little slips of paper that had wonderlandish quotes printed on
it.. It was pasted all over the place..

While we waited for ppl to arrive, we did some last min dressing up..


I guess only Sharlene, Erica and I got into the theme.. Heh, Erica with her
cotton ball feelers (it wasnt really visible till sharlene stuffed cotten inside the swirls) and me with some hat
Sharlene dug up..

Nt sure what Sharlene was supposed to dress up as though hahah.. though she had this nice hair
band ribbon thing. I guess, shes being alice..


And some Camwhorin too before ppl started to arrive..

Agnes arrived first, then after a while the rest of the ppl started
arriving.. So we sat down and ate stuff..

Well, this wasnt everybody who came as some left early and some came late.
Proud of this shot cuz it was shot using flash, if nt the background would have been totally white.

It was about to rain so we moved the table in from the balcony.

Had a personal cook though, Ericas "boyfriend".. Hahaha..
He was manning the hot plate and cooking us a constant supply of food..

Ok, i concede, the dress is really starting to grow on me. ok, that sounds wrong.

haha, the "welcome dance". which was just 1 min of awkward body wiggling.

more nice shots. Calvin gives weird faces when i take his photos.. for some reason..

i used flash on most photos, and most of them turned out like white chickens.
This is one photo i forgot to correct the colour balance, (as in forgot to make it look orange again..)

Sharlenes cousin finally arrived.. (they couldnt find their way to her house lol)

The food was good, ah too bad I didn't eat enough! Really like the
lamb that tasted like tender beef to me, and also the pork dish that
was her family dish.

baskin robins ( some Malaysian icecream shop franchise, somethig like
swensens)

Took lots of photos and sang happy birthday.. Really like the lighting
though I admit I didn't do as good a job as I did in daniels party..
Too many ppl blocking my view..

By the time we finished the singing and the photo taking, the icecream
was already melting, haha which got everyone panicy..

Hehe, the cake wAs really damn nice.. Ah I feel like eating it! (there
was still left overs if I recall properly)

After the cake ppl sat around for a while, chatted and camwhored, then
they had to leave since everyone had like the first day of school on
the next day..

Freshman Welcome Party.

Well, ok my blog posts arnt really in chronological order now, i'll probably just do a update on how everything was lined up next time.. The whole holidays we have been soo busy with stuff..

well, we as in, Sharlene and me.

Sharlene's pink laptop stands out among the rest..

Her job was to do the backdrop (projceted images), and project the correct backdrop to suit the "mood"

Part of the theme of the event, paint for the graffiti segment.

The intelligent lights.. They had totally computerized systems that make controlling these lights so much easier than our system..

the Videography ppl have their own communications system, through the cables that connect to their video camera. so the video coordinator would tell his camera man to do stuff, like (follow that guy) or (point at the crowd now). says sharlene who was beside the videography guy who was talking non stop to his camera man..

i have a fetish for black and white photos for this event..

well at least he doesnt really look drunk here..


custom guitars and bass.. These 2 were brothers.. 1 is from RP (lol, performing at a sp event haha)

I like his expressions.. and his tendency to point the mic at the crowd.. produces lots of nice photos.




This guy is awesomely rich, 5dmk2 and 50d, same 70-200mm lens as me, plus original flashes. Its all owned by him summore..

Think it was quite cool, to be behind the scenes and doing stuff.. Our club just supported the event though, as we called in professionals to help with the setup of the stage.. Quite cool to see how they work..

Anyway, it was a good experience really.. Totally tired after that.. heh..
