Japan Day 2
Day 2
Had lost track of time as the sun rose and set at such an early time. But what i remember was that we left the place really early by taxi, before taking a bus to this lake high up in the mountains.
Their bus fare system helper thing. What you do is, when you get up the bus, you had to take this ticket, and it would have this number, which is at which fare stage you got onto the bus, then when you want to alight, you just had to take a look at this screen, and pay accordingly. (there was only 1 door on the bus, like coaches)
Saw one poor man cycling up the snaking mountain roads. damn zai.
The mountain roads were grooved to prevent vehicles from slipping when it rains.
The lake.
The lake wasnt really impressive compared to nz lakes, nor were the surrounding mountains, as they weren't snow capped.
We took a walk down one of the roads, with me at the back again, busy snapping photos and changing to one of my many lenses. Nearly lost them once too.
damn, if only i came to japan one week later. imagine all the leaves turning yellow.
Their flowers are nice though. Like much more flowers than in NZ.
Bently. Before their famous mascot was convinced?
i like this photo.
Pink.
We walked quite a long way before entering this temple which overlooked the lake, and took more pictures again. After we left, me and my mom headed off further down the road in search of this high look out point, while my grandma and auntie went the other direction to this busstop as they were tired of walking.
Those wells again. or water coolers.
A demonstration of flash, and without flash. Thats why i still carry around my flash on bright days.
hmm, must do more of these shots with the guys. like hell yeah.
This is supposed to be part of a panorama, but im too lazy to stitch it up, yup so part of it. Even with the wide angle i couldnt get the whole place in.
Yeah, cant read a damn thing.
I find this shot really funny. like my grandma laughing at my aunt.
We covered quite a lot of ground however did not manage to find that look out point, so we turned back quickly as we had to catch the infrequent bus ride back to where we started off.
They had a ton of caution signs and we couldnt read them. lol
The british embassy. Interesting. lol.
When we were back where we started, we went to the many shops there to look for food. More ramen.lol.
I realised many of their food shops had mockups of their dishes at their store window. Pretty cool i think.
Porn book. There were more of these strewn around than there are rubbish on the streets.
im hungry now. It totally beats any ramen in singapore.
awww..
this would be nice with a fish eye lens.
After further shopping, we went down to this quite famous water fall that had a 100m drop or something. AT first we intended to go down to the base of the waterfall, but you had to pay 500 yuen for that. (100 yen was $1.65) Not worth it as we had already seen the water fall from this other vantage point, so we walked back and shopped some more..
That water fall from some distance.
and closer in. Not really fantastic really.
Since we didnt spend much time there, we decided to go to another water fall somewhat nearby. Turned out much nicer although it wasnt a really high waterfall.
Yup, go to this waterfall instead of that more "famous" one.
for some reason, this just reminds me of some green tea advert or something.
Oh, and to make u see why i needed the "sunglasses for my camera" junk was because i wanted to take long exposure shots of waterfalls. And its difficult to do that in a sunny day as it the picture taken using long exposure would be too bright.
The difference between the top photo and the bottom photo is how long the exposure was. The picture below is the standard exposure settings.
The "river" that fed the waterfall.
yeah, my mom was going on about how my grandma's walking stick was a really good idea so she went to find some random stick from the bushes.
beauty.
My mom after finally figuring out how to read the time table on the bus thing.
On the way back to the bus terminal.
some dude taking in the sights.
yummy.
absolutely no edits at all. It was EXACTLY like that.
Quality is quite surprising since i took it through the bus window.
Took the same bus home after that, and it was already getting dark again. The road down was a different one from the road up the mountain, and it snaked even more, like constant u turns. It would have looked good in a picture but it was already too dark for that opportunity.
Ate at the only restaurant that was still open (it was only 6+)ate more ramen, then took a cab back and waited for the sweet dreams.
